Happy Maha Shivratri
Maha Shivratri is an important Hindu festival, which is celebrated annually in the honour of Lord Shiva. It is said that Lord Shiva got married to Goddess Parvati on this day. Some believe that Shiva performed the dance of preservation. creation and destruction on this night. So, from the marriage of Shiva to Lord Shiva’s, there are several stories associated with the day of Maha Shivratri. The day also marks the remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in life.
The devotees observe a strict fast on this day followed by worshiping Lord Shiva. Some devotees keep the nirjala fast, which means they don’t even consume a drop of water the entire day. The temples are overcrowded with devotees and people sing bhajans a chant ‘Om Namah Shivay’.
