India celebrates Independence Day on August 15 every year. It is a national holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the united kingdom on 15 August 1947. India’s Independence Day is celebrated nationwide on August 15. It marks the end of the British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent nation. Our independence day also marks the anniversary of the partition of the sub- continent into two countries, India and Pakistan.

Independence Day is observed throughout the United States with the singing of the national anthem, flag raising ceremonies, and drills. The state capitals would host a variety of cultural events. The prime minister attends the flag-raising ceremony at New Delhi’s Red Fort, and 21 gun rounds are fired in commemoration of the sombre event. A parade of members of the armed services and police officers follows.
The Independence Day is considered as a public holiday with outings, picnics and events like parades, fireworks, air shows, and musical concerts. Nowadays, kite flying has become a tradition on this day and people fly numerous kites of all colours, sizes, shapes symbolizing freedom and enjoy the day with their families and friends.
