17th February: World Human Spirit Day
World Human Spirit Day is celebrated on 17 February to make people aware of the simple ways through which we can empower ourselves every day. It is the day to thanks the higher power for what we have and what we don't have, for making us and giving us the ability to touch others. World Human Spirit Day gives us hope, to keep ourselves positive, to connect spiritually, etc. The message of the World Human Spirit Day is a reminder of the simple ways we can empower ourselves every day.
On World Human Spirit Day people all over the world are encouraged to take 2 minutes of silence at 3 pm Eastern Time to meditate to find the true spirit of freedom and peace that lives within each of us.
This day was started by Michael Levy of Point of Life in 2003 to promote a human spirit that lives the creative, peaceful, loving life that it was meant to live.
People will sense a connection between each other when they go into the two minutes of silence on Human Spirit Day. It will be a very powerful silent meditation and the more people that participate, the more powerful it becomes to bring about world peace and harmony.
